There’s no more hope left for Earth…
– There’s only one way to prevent the extinction of humankind!
– Doctor, what is it?
It’s a bacterium that can survive for hundreds of millions of years, even in extreme environments.
We’ll spread it across the universe.
If even one of them happens to land in a place suitable for life,
the surviving bacteria will keep dividing and evolving.
Eventually, a being similar to humans will emerge,
and given enough time, it might even surpass the civilization we’ve built.
That way, the pursuit of “the meaning of life” can continue endlessly.
Perhaps we, too, are the result of bacteria once scattered by someone else.
So as long as life continues in any form, meaning can always be sought!
Not necessarily.
No matter how advanced a civilization becomes,
without self-reflection, it will remain at the level of beasts.
Who could have imagined that we would live to see that ending with our own eyes?
